Hey y'all! I'm so excited to start a weekly series on the blog called Weekly Joys! Each week I'm going to be sharing my personal simple joys from the week. Here at Carolina Dandy, our core is rooted in joy. Our hope and heart is that you would recognize, celebrate, and share the joy with others. Life is so much sweeter when we shine light on the joy in our lives. When we celebrate the joys, we create joyful hearts and joyful lives. My hope is that by sharing the sweet things that have inspired me this week, that it will encourage you to look for the bright spots in your days and help you cultivate a life of joy and gratefulness.
So, without further ado, here are my a few of my favorite joys from this past week!
1. Everything Seasoning for Bagles & More
It's crazy to think how life changing this seasoning has been, but truly it's THE BEST. I was in a major rut with food (probably because I'm terrible at cooking), but this has brought my meals back to life. My family raves about it, and now will actually get the food I put in front of them, really.
I put it on roasted veggies, meats, eggs, avocado, and more. It is literally perfection. A sprinkle and a shake of this is truly a simple joy for me. I get it at my local grocery store, but it's also available on Amazon.
2. Blue Hydrangeas
We were at my parents house for my brithday this past week, and spotted these beauties in full bloom. I just had to cut a vase full for my kitchen. It is just the happy I need when walking through the house.
3. Zippered Canvas Pouch
I have been using our new monogrammed canvas zippered pouch from the shop this summer and it has been revolutionary, not even kidding. I can easily transfer pool day necessities (sunscreen, chapstick, hair ties, magazine, etc) into our lake bag in about 2 seconds. It holds everything (a magazine perfectly), it's super cute, and it keeps me organized. Everytime I reach for it, I'm so glad I treated myself to it.
4. Summer Thunderstorms
Does anyone else absolutely love a good summer thunderstorm? I love the stillness and the quiet it brings as the dark clouds roll in. The pouring rain is such a soothing break from a crazy day, and it's a sweet reminder that even in the storms of life, that our Jesus is SO good.
5. Pool adventures with family
We are thankful to have access to a pool this summer and it has been perfect with Harrison. He's really loving the water this year, and has even learned how to use a squirt gun! Hearing him giggle, watching him learn to swim, and really enjoy himself have been some of the sweetest moments this week.
Now, it's your turn! Write it down, say it out loud, or start a note in your phone, of all the things you are grateful for this week! The big things and the small, simple joys.
I'd love to hear about your week in the comments too! Let me know one simple joy from this week!
