Hostess Tip of the Week Vol. 3

Fall is officially here and the holidays are quickly approaching, so dreaming up your next tablescape is probably not far off from your mind. It's the thoughtful details that make a table special for those who gather around.

Hostess Tip of the Week

Today's Hostess Tip of the Week is one that allows you to put thought into the details of your table, helps your guests feel welcome and prevents that "where do I sit" dance when it comes time to eat.

When it comes to serving your guests, timing is everything to keep the food warm and ready to eat!  An easy way to keep things running smoothly and guests seated at the table on time is to put some thought into place cards.

Place cards are a thoughtful, special touch to your table, they welcome guests in and invite them to the table.  It's a detail that won't go unnoticed by your guests.

This also helps with the awkward "dance" of when everyone is called to the table, but no one knows where to sit so everyone is standing around waiting to pick a seat.

Another benefit to place cards at each table setting, is that you can strategically place people around the table who you know will get along well with those around them.  It's also a fun way to help others "meet" their neighbor and make new friends.

There are so many styles and options when it comes to place cards on your table. Dream up or choose a style that compliments your holiday table.

I've gathered a few ideas below for Thanksgiving tablescapes!

Do you use place cards for your table settings?

You can go simple or very elaborate with your place cards, but no matter what you do, your guests will appreciate your thoughtfulness
